I hate the concept of only wearing something once, with the exception of a wedding dress. Therefore that concept also eclipses prom dresses. Most people only go to prom once or twice, and typically don’t wear the same dress. However, I think that is the greatest waste of money considering the dresses are usually upwards of a hundred dollars and are only worn for a few hours that night.
So I decided to style a dress for the summer, since prom is always held in the spring, it is only proper to to style it for the adjacent season. I threw on a chiffon “kimono” top and some sandals to give the look a more casual vibe. I topped it off with a flower crown that I made to make it more summery.
The dress I actually found at Macy’s for $20, and I think it was originally $109 or something, which is made the item 80% off. If you’re ever shopping on a budget, I would suggest browsing at Macy’s because it is actually one of the cheapest places to shop at if you are familiar with their sales!
